Before their return to Madison tonight at High Noon Saloon for FRZN Fest, Night Moves’ Mark Ritsema sent us a few of their favorite songs from television and film. Be sure to also check our interview with Night Moves from September when they were here to open for Dirty Projectors.

1. Keith Carradine – “I’m Easy”
“From Robert Altman’s 1975 film Nashville. Keith Carradine only came out with two records after this movie but I don’t think either are as good as the way he performs in this movie. His character is perfect and there’s something about this performance that I don’t think could be captured in an audio recording without the scene to go with it. I love this song. Keith Carradine also plays on ‘Since You’ve Gone’ from the same movie and it’s equally as good.”

2. Audrey Hepburn – “Moon River”
“Henry Mancini wrote this song. It’s so pretty and the setting makes it that much better.”

3. Donna, Maddy, and James from Twin Peaks – “Just You”
“You wanna laugh the whole time you watch this, but it’s too good to laugh at. It makes me wish I was one of those ladies and that James would take me away on his motorcycle forever.”

4. Anatoly Aleshin – “You Light Up My Life”
“(Happiness) has been one of my favorite movies for a long time. Our band also takes a lot of influence from Debby Boone. That’s why I’m choosing this song.”
