Sweden’s Little Dragon are nearly experts by now. The Gothenburg-based quintet has learned to meld nearly every electronic subgenre into one cohesive sound. And over the past few years, propelled by the success of 2011’s Ritual Union and the group’s collaboration with SBTRKT (and, indirectly, Drake) on “Wildfire,” Little Dragon have made their way to considerable commercial exposure. The group’s latest record, 2014’s Nabuma Rubberband, features elements of house, subterranean dub, and shimmering pop.

“Let Go,” the third single off Nabuma Rubberband, is one of the album’s finest moments. Over a slow, stuttering background, singer Yukimi Nagano spins poetic lyrics with a fitting depth for the album’s finale. She talks of “sweet nights with you” and “feeling thunder and pain” describing a bittersweet separation. Little Dragon’s recent foray into softer, smoother sounds — R&B, electro-soul — has been one of their most interesting turns to date and, as always, we diligently await their next move.
