If you recognize the name The Chain Gang of 1974, it’s probably from the track “Speechless” which is prominently featured in the hit video game series Grand Theft Auto V. Chain Gang is the indietronica project of DJ Kamtin Mohager, and honestly, indietronica couldn’t be a better way to describe the band’s musical style.
Having released their third studio album Daydream Forever in February of this year, The Chain Gang of 1974 presented “You” as one of the promotional tracks for the album on their SoundCloud account. It brings more of the vocal goodness you may already know from “Sleepwalking,” but with more upbeat instrumentals. If “Sleepwalking” gets you wanting to play GTA V like it does for me, “You” should at least get you to sample the rest of their latest album to see what else Mohager has in store for his listeners.
