In January, English indie rockers Alt-J suffered quite a hit as founding member Gwil Sainsbury decided that the life of a touring musician was not for him. Despite this considerable setback, Alt-J has forged through with a sophomore album release planned for late September of this year.

The newest single off of Alt-J’s upcoming album is a bit of a departure from their normal sound, to say the least. In fact, the band has joked about accidentally creating the anthem for the next NRA convention. The song has a twangy rock vibe that calls to mind classic rockers of the ’70s and ’80s. Despite this strange twist, the song still contains elements of the Alt-J sound, including their signature filtered vocals. The result is a catchy track that will certainly get you excited to taste what else Alt-J is cooking.
