I first fell in love with La Sera when, in 2012, during some heartbreak or another, I stumbled upon the near perfect electro-pop ballad “Love That’s Gone.” Between her self-titled first album in 2011 and Sees the Light in 2012, it is a pretty apt conclusion to say that Katy Goodman, the fine lady behind La Sera, is really, really good at being heartbroken.

However, we all have to turn off the Phil Collins and leave our wallow spots (ice cream stained bed, grimy bar—wherever) and seize the day at some point. This is exactly what Goodman seems to be doing with “Running Wild.” It’s loud, energetic, a little aggressive, but mostly it’s fun. There’s an artful disorganization to the melody that perfectly accompanies lines such as: “There’s no use in dying if you’ve never been alive.” It’s the kind of song that you want to dance to but you can’t catch up to any sort of rhythm, so in the end you’re in an adrenaline rush that is something more akin to, well, running wild.

Whether you’ve been wallowing or not, go enjoy this. It’s time.
