If you weren’t at the Majestic Theatre on Saturday night, you missed a massive party. Full of funky beats, good vibes, and mimosas, night two of Cherub was the happiest rager one could ask for.

Straight out of the gate, the unexpectedly great one-man act Gibbz brought nothing but funk to the cozy stage. Wearing black plastic glasses and a plain T-shirt, Gibbz had the image of an average nerdy guy, but what came out of his mouth was certainly not average. The man belted high notes like it was nothing, all the while dancing energetically around the stage and pumping up the audience.

Following Gibbz was New York-based duo Ghost Beach (pictured above). As per the name, their sound was an atmospheric mixture of beachy surf vibes and electronic touches. The tropical-shirt-sporting men cultivated a great relationship with the audience throughout the set, not hesitating to chat with the crowd and grab the hands of multiple fans. They seemed genuinely ecstatic to be there, and they didn’t let the energy in the room fade for even a second.

Around midnight, the stage was taken over by everyone’s favorite pair of bros from Nashville, known as Cherub. Coming off the release of their debut studio album in April, the crowd-pleasing duo brought their unique blend of electro-pop and R&B to the people. Running onstage with a (hopefully ironic) tattoo of Flappy Bird on his calf, Jason Huber kicked off the show by shouting, “It’s time to get sweaty!” The lively crowd was obviously overjoyed to see them, and we were treated to both old favorites and brand new tracks.

The entire night was nothing but fun, and there wasn’t a single unsmiling face in the sold-out room. In the words of Jason Huber, “Madison really knows how to throw down.” Well, so does Cherub.
