Summer may be fading in our rearview, but Randa’s sunshine seems to be in full swing. The most recent single from the New Zealand-based rapper, “Rangers” is three-and-a-half minutes of buzzing, bobbing happiness. His cheeky, DIY rap is chock full of pop culture references and tight turnarounds. Plus, he told one interviewer that he “spends a lot of [his] time on the internet, making art and eating American snacks,” so he’s all right in my book. Sure, some of his lyrics make about as much sense as LFO’s (“damn son, dim sum, Michael Jackson, cowboy hat, dollar shop for a cap gun”) but it’s so. damn. catchy.
