I rolled out of bed this morning to the sound of Terror Pigeon. Now, that’s the way they should be listened to. Or late at night when the party is starting to scatter and fade out. The “World’s Sweatiest Band” will release their second album, Live It Up Before You Die It Up!, on September 23—and if the indie-pop-dance orgy of the pre-released “Girl!” is any indication, it will be a nonstop celebration of life.

Terror Pigeon is so loud and so enthusiastic that on most days they’ll make you want to crawl into a dark hole. Just see their website, which may require Advil to fully tolerate. Still, the band’s energy is enviable and incredibly contagious. “Girl!” starts uncharacteristically slow but is quick to blast out with every possible electronic noise that you can fathom. Eventually popping in with trumpets and a hefty guitar solo, the track screams being in love, especially with the repeating lyrics: “There’s nothing about you I won’t love” (doth protest too much?). “Girl!” feels like the beginning of something wonderful.
