Brand new London-based artist Celeste Waite may be still a teenager, but she has the voice of a bona fide soul singer. Born in California, Waite has come from virtually nowhere to produce some seriously funky tracks. With a debut EP in the works, she is one to keep an eye on in the following months.
Waite’s sultry voice wraps up the listener in a silky blanket of sound in her recent single, “Born Again.” The highly reverberant mix gives the track a spacious feel, like a message being transmitted from far away, and the production adds an edge with chopped vocals and quirky sounds.
