British producer Andy Smith is from the grayish, industrial London borough Croydon. The proud hometown of Burial and Skream, Croydon has a legendary history with dubstep. You know…dubstep, that fabled British genre that’s now morphed more into this type of deal. But despite the dubby ties, you won’t hear many bassy wubs or reverby drums in LXURY’s tracks. Instead, you’ll hear colorful, majestic house music.

Smith first made waves with last year’s Disclosure-esque single, “Jaws,” but it sounds like he’s just now hitting his stride. LXURY’s latest single, “Pick You Up,” is a confident, soulful jam that only gets better with multiple plays. Also, like any truly stellar electronic track, it works in a solitary, headphone listening scenario or at a party with your pals.

LXURY will release his second EP, Into the Everywhere, on Greco-Roman next year. Until then, jam “Pick You Up” loudly.
