Not a person but a collective, Los Angeles band Milo Greene takes its name from a fictional manager persona that the group created to help them book tours in their early days. For their sophomore release, the four lead singer-songwriters of Milo Greene have found their strength in collaboration. After writing new material separately, the pop quartet joined back together to polish the new tracks into an album, Control.

One of the singles off of the new release, “Heartless,” showcases this collaboration extensively. The lead vocals switch seamlessly throughout the track between the four singers, lending movement and harmony to the arc of the song. Underneath the vocals, an energetic beat ebbs and flows, mixed flawlessly with synthesized accompaniment. The result is a danceable track that demonstrates the good that can come from teamwork.
