Disclosure instantly made a splash in the electronic dance scene with their 2012 hit single “Latch.” The brother duo of Guy and Howard Lawrence followed it up with Settle, a critically acclaimed 2013 full-length that drew rave reviews from the likes of Pitchfork and The Guardian. This album not only produced major dance hits such as “White Noise” and “You and Me,” but it helped to spark the careers of rising stars Sam Smith and AlunaGeorge. With such a successful record, the duo is now poised for a potential sophomore release that will certainly be in the spotlight.

Recent new single “Bang That” diverges from the sound of Settle, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The track showcases a return to the house roots of dance music, finding a way to bounce along seamlessly. It evokes an incredibly clear image of a bunch of people foolishly dancing encircled out at a club. Such imagery demonstrates the duo’s ability to create an atmosphere, particularly one that is conducive to dancing. In terms of what to expect from a new album, “Bang That” at the very least tells us that Disclosure can, in fact, still make people dance.
