Coming out of the low-profile city of Kettering, England, neo-psychedelic band Temples never expected to shoot so quickly into popularity. However, their YouTube videos quickly caught the attention of major British indie label Heavenly, and before they knew it Temples had a record deal and a hit single, scrambling to rehearse for their first high-profile show.
Listening to the newest single, “Mesmerise,” from their upcoming debut album, Sun Structures, this crazy rise to fame doesn’t seem crazy at all. Full of tight harmonies and atmospheric melodies, the hypnotic track is a masterful reincarnation of the psychedelic sound for the new age. The bombastic instrumentation and dramatic musical arc sets the band apart from the current wave of neo-psychedelic sound. One can only imagine what will come of Temples in the very near future.
