Well, they’ve certainly gotten the title right with this one. Coasts has all the angst you need here for a good wallowing sesh. It’s like I’m 15 and having a lot of feelings while drinking Rolling Rock on the couch in someone’s basement all over again! This is your good old-fashioned guitar-heavy garage band rock, layered with just enough grit and nautical themes to pay tribute to the band’s native Bristol, England.

“Wallow” is a bit of a departure from the group’s first single, “Oceans.” Whereas the latter is filled with pop guitar riffs and summer romance nostalgia, “Wallow” is a far more contemplative number. Overall we see darker subject matter with just as much energy as they give to their more happy-go-lucky songs. “Wallow” is just a taste of what these guys have to offer. To get a feel of the entire alternative emotional roller coaster that is Coasts, check out the stream of their Paradise EP.
