Sorry, excuse me while I go music-gasm — a term I have coined for the soul purpose of talking about Banks’s most recent single “Waiting Game.” It’s sexual, vulnerable, and face melting. Nothing short of mind-numbingly amazing. OK, I need to cool down.

For “Waiting Game,” Banks teamed up with L.A.-based producer SOHN to create a track that is a bit darker than from what she has previously released. So if you have a grimy, sultry room you’ve been meaning to sit in for a while, this is definitely the song to listen to while doing so. Banks’s voice is nothing short of haunting as her voice wraps itself around you pulls you into the opening verse:

I’m thinking it over
The way you make me feel all sexy but it’s causing me shame
I wanna lean on your shoulder
I wish I was in love but I don’t wanna cause any pain
And even if I’m feeling like I’m even, we’ve got nothing to gain

And really, the vocals are all you need here. Her voice is so pristine, musically self-assured yet emotionally raw that by the end of the song, you have been put into a kind of trance. “Waiting Game” promises a killer EP, though we have yet to find a release date. In the meantime Banks is busy sharing her goodness with North America as the opening act on The Weeknd’s upcoming tour. Check it out.
