For those who aren’t familiar with Phantogram, get yourselves familiar! Yes, a phantogram is an optical illusion but this musical duo is no illusion. Josh Carter and Sarah Barthel began their project Phantogram back in 2007 and have been killing it every since.

The electronic rock team recently came out with their self-titled EP featuring the track “Celebrating Nothing.” The song’s powerful lyrics like “give me reason to stay alive / I’ve got the feeling we’re gonna die” grasp listeners attention and draw them into their melodic song. Barthel’s somber vocals float along a line of heavy bass, the simplistic words although placed on top of a heavy bass are clear, distinct, and meaningful.

Phantogram’s massive fan base stretches from the coasts of the U.S. all the way to Canada, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Carter and Barthel have gained praise all over the globe for their dreamy soundscape and continue to surprise and please listeners. Look out for their upcoming LP Voices, debuting early next year.
