“Luna” is one of those rare, perfectly light songs that will kick you out of bed on the worst day. However, this unique, life-affirming cheerfulness seems to be Bombay Bicycle Club’s specialty, an art that they’ve mastered and made their own. From their upcoming new album, So Long, See You Tomorrow, “Luna” is a layered masterpiece.

Behind the obscure, primitive drumbeats and the prevailing under-water theme,”Luna” is about the right moment. And when it comes to identifying that moment, no one does it better than Bombay Bicycle Club. The lyrics, the noises and the rhythm collide perfectly, rendering us speechless and inexplicably content. While the verses build themselves up on the trivialities of speech, the chorus is about releasing inhibitions and words. Through that moment of release, “Luna” prides itself on not needing words to create meaning, nor explanation to discover something truly magical.
