An experiment in pop rock collaboration, Menace Beach is on its way to putting its birth place of Leeds back on the musical map. Consisting of members and ex-members of the bands Sky Larkin, Pulled Apart By Horses, You Animals, and Hookworms, the co-ed ensemble mixes layers guitar riffs with perfectly chaotic vocals and creates a sound you have no choice but to bop around to.

The five-track EP, Lowtalker, was released January 13, and “Where I Come From” is just the single you need to go find the entire album. Press play and suddenly you’re back to all of the fun of restless youth and the irresistible angst that comes along with it. As lead vocalists Ryan Needham and Liza Webster sing: “Where I come from, we see how we want to feel / where I come from, all we ever wanted was something unreal.”
