“Collapse” is the debut single from Vancouver Sleep Clinic, released in late 2013. It is a harbinger of great things from burgeoning artist. The production runs as sweetly as molasses and as smoothly as butter, occasionally interrupted by a percussion progression that bubbles up like boiling water. The ambient style and airy vocals of Tim Bettinson are reminiscent of Bon Iver circa For Emma, Forever Ago sans acoustic guitar plus electronic synths. In November he wrote on Facebook that the lyrics to the “Collapse” were written on the back of a math book, and after its release it reached 20,000 ears in two days. In addition to “Collapse,” listen to his collaboration with GXNXVS on a cover of Drake’s “Hold On We Are Going Home” — the reverb is just amazing.

Selena Handler is native New Jerseyan, a wannabe New Yorker, and most definitely Kanye West's biggest fan. After singing karaoke renditions of Beyoncé chart toppers, she tends to indulge in more alternative artists, looking at Guy Fieri's bleach tipped hairdo on the Food Network, and finding derivatives of polynomial functions.
