If you are in the mood to feel small in a really good way, I’ve got just the song for you. Zola Jesus (our very own Wisconsinite, Nika Rosa Danilova) has recently released her new single, “Dangerous Days,” and to put it gently: this is a force to be reckoned with. The song is wide, expansive, and passionate—brilliantly blending her niche style of industrial pop with something almost akin to a power ballad.

This song has an element of keeping up with the times, while also taking a thoughtful step back. “Dangerous Days” shows a step away from Danilova’s early goth rock days towards her more pop tendencies—her musical range is impressively prolific. However, at the root of the song is a conflation of terror and hope within the vastness of the world we now live in. It’s beautiful, it’s empowering, and if you really want your socks knocked off check out the video here
