Owl & the Pussycat’s self-titled debut album is the combined efforts of two indie veterans. Lois Maffedo, who is five albums strong in the acoustic music scene, has joined forces with Greg Moore, member of the Oakland-based rock band The Moore Brothers.

Together, they have created thirteen folksy songs that are sweet and alluring, harkening back to the days of sounds like Simon & Garfunkel. The emphasis here is on the interaction of these two voices — perhaps one voice being the Owl’s and the other belonging to the Pussycat?? — and they blend effortlessly.
