Greg Dulli, the man responsible for the critically acclaimed Afghan Whigs and the Twilight Singers, recently did a long overdue solo tour, with a limited 14 date stateside run, as well as dates in Ireland, Portugal, Spain, and Belgium.
But things get oh so much better for Twilight Singers fans with the announcement of a new Twilight Singers album, titled Dynamite Steps. It’s their first new album in five years and is due out on February 15. Sub Pop Records is handling the release and world-wide tour plans will be arriving shortly.
Dynamite Steps includes a duet with Ani DiFranco, titled “Blackbird and the Fox.” It sounds deep and dark, with the announcement from Sub Pop foretelling “the album explores the thin line between life and death, mortality and immortality, resignation and celebration — that mythical moment when your life flashes before your eyes, drawn out here over the course of eleven songs.”
