If you’re looking for a new favorite electro-pop tune with a catchy, drag-you-in hook, look no further than Prides’s “Out of The Blue.” The Glasgow trio, formerly known as Midnight Trio, deliver a moody and pumping song driven by smashing drums, spirited “No, no, nah-no”s, and the kind of synth hook that deserves to be blasted from more than a few car speakers before the summer’s end. The underlying snyth riff is a little dark and the lyrics are sung with emphatic earnestness but the track remains highly danceable. “Out of The Blue” is the only released track from Prides at this point. I’d say they’ve set the bar pretty high for themselves.
