New York City based Panama Wedding is the latest and greatest to take on the pop-rock-alternative realm this past summer. Before talking about this incredible piece of music, it must be noted that the powerful force of Panama Wedding stems from one person, Peter Kirk. Kirk does not have the rocker/musician image one would think after listening to his music. Instead he is a seemingly ordinary, Members Only Jacket-wearing, white-collar guy, which sort of makes him and his music that much cooler.

Since the release of “All of the People” in mid-July, Panama Wedding has been the talk of the indie-blogosphere town. Yet the greatness of “All of the People” is so potent that it is bound to move beyond the web and give a new boost of energy to the already blossoming synth-pop genre.

The moment the “ting-a-ling-a-ling” beats play out, you are immediately lifted to a feeling of euphoria as the music grows, and then you are brought back down to earth again with Kirk’s swooning vocals. There is something about the music that is honest and soulful, resonating the carelessness you can only get away with when you are young. Summer may be over, but “All of the People” is still fit for a night out on the town with the windows rolled down.
