As I write this, I sit stranded in the lobby of the Hampton Inn in the hamlet of Greensburg, Indiana on my second day of waiting for the Interstate to Chicago to reopen. So, you could pretty much say that this may be the perfect song for my situation. Not only is Beautiful Boy’s “Home” the perfect end to a miserable road trip, but it also may just be a perfect start to the new year.
Indie rock with a good dash of inspiration that suggests new beginnings, Beautiful Boy writes the kind of songs you want to fall in love to. Full of hope and the sound of finding your way, the five-piece ensemble is somewhat reminiscent of Matt Nathanson and his pop rock comrade’s music is embedded with aspiration.
