When you’re under pressure, it feels like a weight is pressing down upon you, physically exhausting you and forcing you to hunch over as you try to hold yourself up. Milk & Bone’s “Pressure” is the feeling of that weight being lifted. It’s a blissful release from stress and strain, a welcome refuge from troubles.

Montreal-based duo Laurence Lafond-Beaulne and Camille Poliquin, together known as Milk & Bone, produce a masterfully melodic gem that feels like you’re falling under the trance of hypnotism and eased into a meditative state of relaxation. “You’re like good water pressure in a cold rainy summer / I can feel in my fingers all the last inner comfort of your bed sheets,” the pair sings in a floating, dreamlike state. The backtrack taps along steadily as they duo asks, “Is this your heartbeat or mine?” The answer may be neither—it’s the sound of your foot unconsciously tapping along as this silky song covers you like the aforementioned bed sheets.
