Have a Foster the People-sized hole in your life? Not for long. “Hey, Doreen,” lead-off single for Brooklyn band Lucius’ new album, Wildewoman, features all the glossy pop sheen, clean synths, and vaguely subversive fuzz we’ve come to expect from all striving young pop bands.

The soaring oh-OH-oooohs, the en vogue ’70s sparkle, and accessibly nondescript lyrics split the difference between not annoying your parents and not embarrassing the hell out of you in an ingeniously addictive way.

They’ve already caught the ear of the big times, getting press from MTV and touring with Tegan and Sara and The Head and the Heart. Lucius’ live show has drummed up a rabid fan base in NYC, and is rumored to be one of the best in Brooklyn. Madison will get to see what all they hypes about when they take the stage this Saturday at FreakFest on the Capitol Stage.
