Okay, so MØ has done it again. If she hadn’t already created enough fervor for her soon-to-be-released Bikini Daze EP, this is sure to be the icing on the cake for the fan base of the Danish songstress. With “Never Wanna Know,” MØ introduces her listeners her softer side: a ballad break-up song with the du-wop vibe of a ’60s girl band.

MØ so far has never been one to shy away from risks with her music, and this track is no exception. “Never Wanna Know” is quite the departure from past singles like “Waste of Time” and “Pilgrim.” Whereas the previous songs were brooding and shrill, this single is lighthearted yet nostalgic. She deliciously croons “I never wanna know / the name of your new girlfriend” and perfectly illustrates the taste of bittersweet in the line “I never would have let you go if I’d been a little older”.

Bikini Daze, set for release October 20, needs to hurry up and get here. Thank goodness we have plenty of singles like this to fill our ears with while we wait, as the EP is sure to possess the range and richness of all of MØ’s music that we have been introduced to thus far.
