For years, Scandinavian producers Astma and Rocwell didn’t know how to say no. Committing to nearly every offer that came their way, the two were left unsatisfied and aware that they weren’t making the music they wanted to. Enter vocalist Stina Wappling, the final and therefore most vital member of NONONO, a name born in conjunction with the producers’ ability to finally turn down conflicting projects and devote themselves exclusively to one venture.

Earlier this year the trio released their first body of work, the Pumpin Blood EP. And it’s pretty great. Their most recent track, “Scared,” isn’t on that EP (it’s on the compilation Kitsuné Maison Compilation 15), but it is a synthy slow-burner fueled by dreamy verses that erupt at each catchy chorus. Being full of heavy bass and synth textures, it flows in the same musical vein as their Pumpin Blood material; and also like the rest of NONONO’s output, “Scared” will only leave you saying “YESYESYES”.
