Well, I come to you with your daily dose of inspiration. Of get up and do something musical goodness. The newest on my rotation of Swedish songstresses, Seinabo Sey in her song “Younger” slams listeners with a dose of beautiful and power reality. Not only can this girl sing, but she also relays in her vocals an overwhelming belief in her lyrics.

“There is a light to all this darkness if only we
Fight against them telling us how we should be
I refuse to have you break me
When you know you ain’t getting any
Younger, younger, younger”

It’s a particularly poignant message for anyone stuck in that “I don’t know what to do next” phase of life, as so much of us are. The power pop ballad draws the listener in and serves as a testament to the shortness of life, daring listeners to take life by the horns. It’s an artfully chosen first single for the emerging artist. Considering the number of times I’ve played “Younger” on my daily commute, she has us waiting in anticipation for what is next.
