Though you could say that they are new kids on the block as far as the indie rock scene goes, the young British rockers As Elephants Are have tapped into a sound that is overwhelmingly catchy and wise beyond their years. (The guys met in a college music composition class in 2011 — a perfect reason to stay in school, kids.) Their recent single “Went Wrong” perfectly exemplifies the band’s self described sound of “dark moody indie pop music.”

The track first gained a fan following when they performed it live at BBC’s Reading Festival in 2013. Now the song has been taken and fine-tuned in the studio, giving listeners a taste of what we should expect from the band’s highly anticipated Hand Prints EP. “Went Wrong” is an angst-filled lament to a relationship turned sour, with a healthy dash of bittersweet pulled into the harmonies to tug at your heart strings in just the right way.
