With a premiere on Stereogum and the public endorsement of Paul Krugman, Brooklyn band Pavo Pavo has caught our attention with the upbeat stylings of “Ran Ran Run.”
The first of two songs released so far by Pavo Pavo (the other one being “Annie Hall”), a relaxed Mac DeMarco-esque vibe lies beneath its beginning. The vocal harmony in the chorus is infectious, and I found myself tapping my foot along with the bass drum quite easily.
While no specific date has been determined, Pavo Pavo is expected to release their debut album in 2015. Let’s hope the band’s hard work and quirky synths can continue to result in quality output on the upcoming project.
