A spur of the moment weekend in Vegas, and by Saturday night you and your pals have beat the odds and splurge with your winnings. Champaign, limo, and good company bring on a dazzling delirium. The momentum of the night’s victories push you all through a blissful mist, and still riding high, things begin to take on a surreal quality. Out the sunroof you stand, watching the blurry lights swim past, your overwhelming childlike glee leaves you incapable of thought.

Put on some quality headphones, play this track, close your eyes, and that’s where you’ll be.

The Seattle-based duo known as Beat Connection produce their silky smooth tracks with a flowing electronic production that balances its components with nothing getting lost or drowned out. Feel-good “The Palace Garden, 4am” combines chillwave effects with upbeat tropical rhythms and percussion, giving it a light energy that soothes without losing your attention. Even as the song begins to wander around the halfway mark, the swaying vocal harmony of the chorus resurfaces and resets the hook as the song fades out.

Beat Connection keeps to themselves, sharing little more than their groovy tunes. “Palace Garden” is an accessible introduction to these folks, but their artistry shines through in their other tracks as well. If you liked the taste and are looking for seconds, try “Silver Screen” for another friendly track, “Same Damn Time” for a heavy dose of chillwave, or for those of you who crave something a bit further out there, whet your whistle with the considerably more abstract “Invisible Cities.”
